Assegaaibosch Country Lodge

Assegaaibosch Country Lodge is situated between the Tsitsikamma forests and the Kouga mountain range, located approximately 75 minutes from Port Elizabeth and an hour from Plettenberg Bay on the R62 motorway. The property sits near the southern gateway of the Baviaanskloof Mega Reserve, a World Heritage Site known for its biodiversity, making it an ideal base for guided tours, adventure activities, and self-drive exploration.

The accommodation comprises 13 rooms surrounding a 15 x 6-meter swimming pool with a wooden deck area, plus an additional six rooms in a Victorian-style double-story Manor house, which can be booked individually or in its entirety. All rooms feature carefully selected furnishings, crisp white cotton linen, natural fabrics, and superior quality mattresses. The bathrooms include unique shower shelves and premium toiletries. Each room offers a television and a private balcony overlooking either wild gardens or the pool deck with mountain views.

The lodge offers two dining areas with varied menus for residents, featuring weekly set menus prepared with fresh ingredients. The property also serves as a wedding venue, accommodating up to 160 guests with facilities including a stone chapel, forest ceremony venue, buffet room, reception hall, and pre-drinks area. The Honeymoon Suite features a private deck, outdoor shower, and sunken bath.

Family-friendly amenities include a dedicated kids' room equipped with DVDs, computer games, table tennis, toys, and books, as well as a children's play garden visible from the sports bar deck, ensuring entertainment for younger guests.
