Camp Bethel

Camp Bethel, operated by Place of Rock company, is an intimate tented bush camp featuring six en-suite tents located in the Klaserie area, adjacent to the Central Kruger National Park. The camp's commitment to maintaining a small scale allows for exceptional attention to detail in service delivery.

The property is strategically positioned in natural bush surroundings, where various wildlife species including zebra, kudu, nyala, and impala freely roam the grounds. The camp's proximity to Big Five reserves results in occasional leopard sightings and the distinct sound of lions roaring in the evening.

The accommodation consists of canvas safari tents constructed on elevated wooden decks, featuring corrugated roofing for temperature control during summer months. Each tent offers either twin or king-sized bed configurations and includes an en-suite bathroom with toilet, hand basin, and shower facilities. Electric blankets are provided during winter. Every tent features a verandah with a kitchenette, comfortable seating, and side tables, creating an ideal setting for morning coffee or evening drinks.

Dining options at Camp Bethel are diverse, with meals served either in the dining area or outdoors amidst log fires and torches for an authentic bush atmosphere. The camp specializes in traditional cuisine using local ingredients, with private bush and in-room dining available upon request.

The camp offers various activities including full-day Kruger Park safaris with picnic lunches, afternoon safaris with sundowner experiences, and nature walks on the premises. Additional activities include boat cruises on the Blyde River Canyon, hot air ballooning, panoramic mountain tours featuring landmarks such as God's Window and Bourke's Luck Potholes, and cultural village tours.
