The Langebaan Experience

Just 120km (about an hour's drive) north of Cape Town, Langebaan is famous for its sheltered lagoon with calm, safe waters. The lagoon is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts – try kite-surfing, windsurfing, sailing, or fishing for local species like White Stumpnose, Elf, Kabeljou and White Steenbras.

Keen golfers can enjoy the nearby 18-hole golf course at the entrance to town. Between July and November, keep your eyes peeled for Southern Right Whales who occasionally visit the lagoon.

Local Tips

For a truly authentic West Coast dining experience, book ahead at Die Strandloper – a legendary beach restaurant serving traditional seafood feasts right on the sand. Other local favorites include Pearly's and Driftwoods.

The West Coast National Park borders the town and showcases the region's unique flora and fauna. During spring (August-September), the park's wildflower displays are spectacular – a proper "blommetyd" celebration of color.

The summer months offer the most reliable weather, making it perfect for water activities, while the property's elevated position captures cooling breezes on hot days and provides those jaw-dropping sunset views over the lagoon that guests consistently praise.
