Langebaan parkrun

Langebaan parkrun offers a scenic 5km route through the beautiful Langebaan Country Estate, combining trail running with spectacular views over the lagoon. This free, weekly community event happens every Saturday at 8:00am and welcomes participants of all fitness levels.

Course Overview

The route features a challenging but rewarding profile with an uphill first 2km that opens up to magnificent lagoon views. After reaching the highest point, runners enjoy a flowing downhill section through indigenous fynbos where you might spot springbok and various bird species. The course finishes on brick-paved sections winding through the estate.

Local Tips

• Weather considerations: Summer mornings can get very hot - arrive early and bring water. Winter runs often showcase beautiful wildflowers along the route.
• Trail conditions: The surface is mostly sandy trail paths with some brick-paved sections. Trail running shoes are beneficial but not essential.
• Best overtaking: Wait until after the first kilometer when the field thins out before attempting to pass other runners.
• For families: The route is suitable for running prams with good suspension, and kids enjoy spotting wildlife.

Practical Information

After completing the course, participants can enjoy refreshments at The Range at LCE, which serves excellent coffee and breakfast options. Water is thoughtfully provided at the finish line. Remember to register online before your first visit and bring your printed barcode to get your time recorded.

Dogs are not permitted on the course due to the conservation area designation. The parkrun sometimes gets cancelled for special events, so check the website before traveling.
