Lebo's Soweto Backpackers

Lebo's Soweto Backpackers is located in the famous suburb of Orlando West, offering a unique experience for visitors. It allows guests to explore Soweto by walking the streets and learning the township lingo, joining cycling or walking tours, playing soccer with locals, and watching sports events. The backpackers also provides opportunities for volunteering in community projects and meeting people involved in development initiatives.

Guests can take walks to museums, restaurants, and shebeens (informal taverns), visit churches, and sing gospel tunes. The backpackers offers a delicious barbecue experience around a campfire, accompanied by local beats from drums and kwaito music. It is one of the few black-owned backpackers and one of the few backpackers located in a black community in South Africa, having won the 2007 Tourism Investment Award.

Lebo's Soweto Backpackers serves home-made Soweto stews, curries, spicy and mild salads, and tasty barbecues. The outdoor area features a cozy fireplace, hammock, outdoor games, and a funky beach bar where guests can listen and dance to African beats and reggae rhythms. The accommodation consists of a bunk-bed shared mixed dormitory sleeping a maximum of four people, with a shared bathroom and access to a communal kitchen. Free Wi-Fi is provided for 24 hours.
