Otters' Haunt

Otters' Haunt is a peaceful retreat situated on the banks of the Vaal River near Parys, in the Vredefort Dome area. The establishment offers accommodation in the form of a guest house, cottage, and bush camp units. All units are furnished with simple, comfortable, and functional furnishings, providing a home away from home experience. The place is ideal for couples, families, and groups of nature lovers and adventurers.

A variety of activities are available, including fly-fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, Vredefort Dome tours, hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking. The accommodation operates on solar power and cooking is done on gas stoves, requiring guests to manage power usage responsibly.

Situated only one hour from Johannesburg and 2 km from Parys, Otters' Haunt offers a quiet and friendly retreat on the banks of the Vaal River. The establishment is protected by the many island channels, allowing nature to be experienced right at the doorstep.

The Otters' Den guest house, cottage, or bush cabins cater to travelers, fly-fishers, friends, family gatherings, corporate sessions, team-building events, and leisurely getaways. Additionally, two A-frame cabins are available for rent, accommodating families and groups. These cabins have separate shower and toilet facilities (not en-suite). A self-catering lapa with blinds and a fireplace is also available. The accommodation is solar-powered, and guests are advised to bring battery lights for use after 10 PM.
