The Red Earth farmhouse is located 25 kilometers from Magaliesburg in the North West province of South Africa. It was constructed using sun-dried bricks made from red clay excavated on the farm itself, lending the structure a rich red hue. The farmhouse is situated on the Buffelsfontein farm, which lies in the Bankenveld region, a transitional zone between the Bushveld and the Highveld.

The farmhouse offers a serene and tranquil environment, surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife, including small antelopes, baboons, porcupines, monkeys, rabbits, and a variety of bird species. It provides self-catering accommodation for families, accommodating up to 6 guests. The accommodation consists of 3 bedrooms, a spacious lounge, a dining area, a fully-equipped kitchen, a pantry, and a bathroom with a bathtub and shower.

The main bedroom features a queen-sized bed, while the second bedroom has a double bed. The third bedroom is equipped with a single bed and a futon. The kitchen is well-stocked with cutlery, crockery, a toaster, a refrigerator, and a stove. Guests can enjoy outdoor braai facilities on the stoep, with firewood provided. Children of all ages are welcome to stay at Red Earth.

Recreational activities available at Red Earth include hiking into the kloof to explore a cave, climbing the nearby mountain to view ancient stone circles, cycling on the kilometers of dirt roads in the area, and swimming in the farm reservoir. Guests can also relax and sunbathe on the walls while taking in the stunning views. Children can interact with the chickens and rabbits kept on the farm, and drawing materials and paper are available for their use.

Please note that access to the farm is not suitable for low-profile vehicles, although a 4X4 is not required.
