Rooderandt Hillside Lodge is situated in the Schoemanshoek Valley, approximately 11 kilometers from Oudtshoorn, on the route leading to the Cango Caves. It is surrounded by the enchanting Swartberg Mountain Range. The elevated location of Rooderandt Hillside Lodge offers a spectacular view across the valley, and it is abundant with indigenous fauna, flora, and birdlife on its 3.5 hectares of unspoiled land. The house at Rooderandt Hillside Lodge is a trove of African culture and is stylishly decorated with attention to detail, furnished throughout with genuine antiques that complement a true South African atmosphere. The decor is characterized by its historical character, featuring popular beam reed ceilings, an original 1897 Bolinder cast iron stove, and the manor's imposing front door, which was originally from a 17th-century hunting lodge of Simon van der Stel.

The lodge offers four private cottages that blend the old and the new. Each cottage is individually decorated with genuine antique furniture, 19th-century stoves, and fireplaces, combined with the convenience of air-conditioning. Each cottage is equipped with a spacious private bathroom and has a patio offering unsurpassed views across the valley. The Honeymoon Suite is designed for a romantic getaway, featuring a stylish, spacious, luxurious, warm, and comfortable ambiance. It has a private entrance, plunge pool, and private garden.
