Three Provinces Mountain Cabins And Campsite is a nature reserve located near the town of Volksrust, approximately three hours' drive from Gauteng. It is a place blessed with abundant natural beauty, including flowing waterfalls and soaring black eagles. The farms Waterval and Schuilhoek are situated at the end of the great Drakensberg escarpment, where the three provinces of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, and the Free State meet atop a sheer cliff, forming a natural masterpiece.

The reserve offers four 4x4 trails: the 3 Provinces Trail, the Tierkloof Trail, Bobbejaankrans Trail, and the Roodedraai Battlefiels Trail. Accommodation options include Rock Cabins, Lodge Cabins, and two campsites: the Rooibektiptol Campsite and the rustic Bush Camp. The cabins provide luxury accommodation located in nature near a rippling stream between mountains, equipped with fireplaces for warmth during cold weather. They are fully self-catering and located 2 km from the farmyard and 4 km from the campsite.

The Rooibektiptol Campsite offers unspoiled nature at the foot of cliffs next to a stream, providing a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. It has hot water facilities and a generator-powered ablution block. The Bush Camp is a more rustic option for those seeking seclusion, situated under shady trees with a stream running alongside. It has no facilities except a long-drop toilet and can accommodate up to five vehicles. A 4x4 vehicle with low range is essential to reach the Bush Camp, which is located approximately 15 km along a 4x4 trail.

During the changing seasons, when small waterfalls flow in the ravines, visitors can enjoy the natural waterholes and splash pools.
