The Aardvark's Burrow is a rustic accommodation unit attached to the Old Church Hall, one of the oldest buildings in Nieu Bethesda. It can accommodate four guests with a double bed and two single beds. Life in Nieu Bethesda continues at a leisurely pace, much like it did 130 years ago when the village was founded. Stone water furrows still line the wide, dusty streets, and the night skies remain unpolluted by streetlights, with fresh and clean air.

Nieu Bethesda is famous for the Owlhouse of Helen Martins and has become a haven for artists and those seeking a quieter lifestyle. Visitors can browse for interesting reads at the Dustcovers bookshop or spend an afternoon beer tasting at the village's own micro-brewery. They can also explore the various galleries and eateries on offer to experience the country life.

The village has a working network of furrows, with water supplied daily from a spring on the plateau above. Residents channel water into their gardens using smaller gated funnels. Visitors can hike along the furrows up to the spring or pre-arrange a hike up Kompasberg or through the Canyon on neighboring farms. Pets are welcome by arrangement at the Aardvark's Burrow.
