Acara

Acara is a lodging establishment located in the Winelands region between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. It is situated in a valley called "Happy Vale" amidst scenic vineyards and offers beautiful views of the Helderberg Mountains. The property consists of 4 exclusive cottages with a total capacity to accommodate up to 12 people.

The rooms at Acara are peaceful and quiet, with each one equipped with heating/cooling, high-speed wireless internet, and iPod facilities. The cottages are typically offered on a self-catering basis due to the fully equipped kitchens, although the area also features many excellent restaurants. Fiona, the host, offers exceptional hospitality and can provide suggestions for day trips, restaurants, and activities in the region.

All units are beautifully appointed, with double doors leading onto a private terrace or deck area. They offer beautiful views of the sparkling heated swimming pool, large gardens, paddocks, and the mountains beyond. The property features romantic willow trees, beautifully landscaped gardens, gravel pathways to meander through, and benches and private areas to sit and enjoy a glass of wine.

Acara is situated in close proximity to many of the best golf courses in the Cape region, making it an ideal location for golfers. However, it is important to note that the property has an un-netted pool and two small streams, which may require extra caution for guests traveling with young children. Additionally, there are animals on the premises.

The accommodation includes a King bedroom with an extra-length bed, a modern kitchenette, and a bathroom. This suite, known as the Jacaranda suite, is located above the main house and has a separate entrance via steps leading to its own balcony, often offering views of African Nguni cattle. The Jacaranda suite can accommodate up to 2 guests.
