Addo Main Rest Camp, located within the Addo Elephant National Park, is a popular main rest camp that offers a variety of accommodation units to cater to different preferences. It provides numerous activities to keep visitors engaged. A unique feature of the camp is the waterhole lookout point, which is floodlit at night, and the underground hide that allows for close encounters with wildlife at the waterhole.

Visitors can expect to hear the calls of lions, spotted hyenas, and jackals in the evenings, while the dawn is heralded by francolin and bokmakieries. The accommodation units are situated within easy walking distance of each other and the camp's facilities, including a swimming pool, restaurant, and shop.

Activities available at the Addo Main Rest Camp include game drives, horse trails, 4x4 trails, hiking trails, and marine eco tours. The climate is temperate to hot, with summer temperatures (November to February) potentially reaching over 40 degrees Celsius. Winter days are mild, but nights can be cold with occasional frost. The average annual rainfall is 450 mm and is spread throughout the year, with peaks often occurring in February/March and October/November.

Additional information about the rest camp includes the following: Some loops of the tourist roads in the park are tarred, while others are graveled and in good condition, suitable for regular vehicles but may be closed during very wet weather. The main entrance road into the park is tarred. Vehicle fuel is available within the parks or on the park periphery. Insect repellent is recommended, especially during summer. No immunizations are needed for travel to the park as it is situated in a malaria-free area.

Please note that rates are subject to the number of adults and children staying. Quotes will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which are to be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. Visitors can enjoy guided game drives, hop-on, hop-off guides, or self-drive game viewing. There are plenty of activities for families to participate in. Visitors must supply their own caravans and camping equipment, as the camp offers gravel ground cover and power points (220v), as well as communal ablutions and a communal kitchen facility with electricity, a hob, and a sink. Additional vehicles are charged a fee per night. Rates exclude the compulsory SANParks community levy, which will be included in the quote. SANParks daily conservation fees are not included and are payable upon arrival at the camp.
