Colchester, Eastern Cape
from
R 9,000
Avg per night for 2 guests

Addo Riverbank on Sundays is situated in Colchester, with the Southern Entrance Gate of the Addo Elephant National Park located a five-minute drive away. It has two units or rooms, each with stunning views over the Sunday's River.

The 2 nights safari package includes the following: 2 nights' accommodation with breakfast included at the Taste of Africa Restaurant, dinner for both nights (first night at the Taste of Africa restaurant, which is a 500-meter walk away, and the second night at Schotia Private Game Reserve), an option for a self-drive safari in the Addo Elephant Park on the second day, and a Tooth and Claw Safari at Schotia Private Game Reserve at 3:00 PM on the second day, lasting approximately four hours. The Tooth and Claw Safari is a guided game drive in an open Land Rover with a refreshment and toilet break, followed by a dinner prepared over an open fire.

The tour focuses on popular animal sightings, and a short spotlight night game drive provides opportunities to spot nocturnal animals. Schotia Safaris is the oldest private game reserve in the Eastern Cape, bordering the Addo Elephant National Park. It is a malaria-free reserve with a high density of animals, including over 40 mammal species and approximately 2,000 animals, ensuring consistently good game viewing throughout the year. Schotia was the first reserve in the Cape Province to have free-roaming lions, and lion sightings are almost guaranteed on every Tooth & Claw game drive.

The Eastern Cape Private Game Reserve is owned, managed, and run by the Bean family, who have owned the original farm, Orlando, since the early 1800s. Peter and his team have over 25 years of experience in the safari business, creating a unique and truly South African safari experience at Schotia. The reserve features a large open-air Lapa, reputedly among the largest in South Africa, with reed and sneezewood walls and a thatched roof covering the dining area and bar. Dinners are a mix of safari cuisine and traditional South African cooking.

The Fish Eagle Unit is on the second floor with its own private balcony and stunning views over the Sundays River. It has a queen-size bed in the room and a double sleeper couch in the lounge area for children or adults. The bathroom has a shower and toilet. The package does not include lunch or entry fees into the Addo Elephant Park for the self-drive safari.
