AfriCamps at Stanford Hills offers a unique glamping experience on a boutique wine farm in Stanford, South Africa, located just 15 minutes from Hermanus and two hours from Cape Town. The property features ten luxury glamping tents situated at the foothills of the Klein River Mountain range, overlooking a scenic dam and the Stanford Valley.
Each tent is fully equipped with modern amenities, including two bedrooms with queen-size beds, a single bunk bed, a private bathroom, air conditioning, and an indoor fireplace. The units feature spacious decks with outdoor furniture and five of the tents offer private wood-fired hot tubs. The accommodation is designed to comfortably house up to five guests, with fully equipped kitchens and living areas.
The estate itself is renowned for its award-winning wines and houses Casa Cello restaurant, which serves fresh, locally-sourced cuisine with stunning valley views. From August through November, the farm showcases beautiful endemic Proteas and Pincushions. Visitors can enjoy various activities including wine tasting, horse riding, hiking, swimming in the farm dam, fishing, and even whale watching via flights from the farm's private landing strip.
The surrounding area offers numerous attractions, with Stanford town known for its artisanal food scene, art galleries, and breweries. The location provides easy access to Hermanus, one of the world's premier whale-watching destinations, and various adventure activities including mountain biking, shark cage diving, and boat cruises. The property is managed by Peter and Jami Kastner, who have transformed what was originally a small Pinotage vineyard into a thriving estate that now exports six wine labels to eleven countries and includes a 100-seater restaurant and accommodation for 57 guests.
