Africamps Klein Karoo

AfriCamps Klein Karoo is a boutique glamping accommodation located on one of the biggest working ostrich farms in Southern Africa. It offers a unique self-catering experience on a working farm, allowing guests to enjoy life on the farm and engage with the surroundings. The accommodation comprises 12 boutique glamping tents positioned around a water dam, where guests can observe free-roaming game such as zebras, springbok, blue wildebeest, kudu, impala, eland, waterbuck, and nyala.

While Oudtshoorn is currently experiencing a severe drought, which may affect the dam levels and game sightings, the accommodation provides ample water for guests' use. Situated a 10-minute drive from Oudtshoorn's center, AfriCamps Klein Karoo offers a tranquil setting amidst a pristine Karoo landscape with views of the Swartberg Mountains.

The farm, owned by Farmer Piet Schoeman, is an authentic working ostrich farm, primarily focused on the production and export of ostrich meat, leather, and feathers. With 20,000 ostriches on site, guests can participate in an ostrich tour to learn about this unique South African farming activity. In addition to the ostriches, a significant portion of the 10,000-hectare farm is dedicated to free-roaming indigenous game, which guests can observe from their tents.

AfriCamps Klein Karoo offers a range of activities, including hiking, hammocking, and e-bike rentals through their e-Rides service. The accommodations are self-catering boutique glamping tents, featuring a lounge and dining area, a wooden veranda, two bedrooms with queen-size beds, and one bathroom with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
