African Array Backpackers Lodge is situated between fynbos vegetation on a high cliff, offering spectacular views of a valley, mountains, and the ocean. It overlooks the Roodfontein Dam, where visitors can witness fish eagles diving for their prey. The lodge provides a tranquil setting with stunning sunrises and sunsets, creating a sense of seclusion despite its proximity to town.

The property features hammocks scattered around the garden, located under trees and hidden from view, allowing guests to relax in privacy. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the premises, and a computer terminal is available in the reception area for guests without laptops or smartphones.

Guests can order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from a menu at the bar, where cold beers are also served. Traditional meals are available for dinner, but must be ordered before 4 PM on the same day to ensure timely preparation. For those who prefer self-catering, the lodge offers a fully equipped kitchen.

African Array Backpackers Lodge provides access to various adventure activities, including bungee jumping from the highest bridge in the Southern Hemisphere, swimming with seals, shark diving, skydiving over a renowned drop zone, sea kayaking, boat rentals for picnics along the Keurbooms River, and hiking. Guests can also explore game reserves on horseback or visit world-renowned animal sanctuaries in the area.

The Buzzard room, located in the cottage, accommodates four guests with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed. It shares bathroom facilities with other rooms.
