African Olive Country Estate

African Olive Country Estate is a self-catering establishment located approximately 1 km from Parys on a tarred road. It is situated close enough to the town for visitors to easily access its amenities, yet far enough away to provide a peaceful country setting. The estate is located at the gateway to the Dome Land World Heritage Site and offers luxury, self-catering accommodation in the form of well-appointed luxury cottages and studio apartments.

The accommodation units at African Olive Country Estate overlook the farm and a century-old water channel from the Vaal River. They are air-conditioned and stylishly furnished with cotton linen, antique furniture, Persian carpets, original artwork, and complimentary sherry. The luxury cottages also feature a large fireplace, providing a cozy ambiance for cool winter evenings. Each unit, with the exception of the Twin Unit, is equipped with a TV and dish connected to OPEN VIEW. Guests can also bring their own decoder, card, and remote to connect to the provided TV.

As a working farm, visitors can expect to see goats ambling by while relaxing on their stoep. African Olive Country Estate offers a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life while still providing access to the dining and shopping options in nearby Parys.

The compact unit at African Olive Country Estate consists of two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. It has a full bathroom with a separate shower and an additional toilet. The living area is air-conditioned and heated, and features DSTV with access to various channels such as movies, sports, history, lifestyle, and Kyk Net. The unit is equipped with basic self-catering facilities, including a full fridge, microwave, tea and coffee station, toaster, and electric fryer. It does not have a stove. A Weber braai is available, with wood available for purchase at R20, or guests can bring their own.

Braai facilities are also available at the lapa around the swimming pool. The unit can be serviced by arrangement for a fee of R30 per morning, which includes cleaning, doing the dishes, and making the beds.
