The Aloe Kaya consists of two double-story wooden and glass fantasy huts built into the sandstone rocks that make the place unique. Each hut can accommodate a maximum of twelve hikers on six bunk beds. The kitchen area is equipped with a fridge, hot plate, sink, cutlery, pots, pans, and braai areas. The camp is electrified and has a ladies' area with three showers and two toilets. There are also four outdoor rock showers and three toilets with a view.

Basic Trail Description: Day 1 - The five-assegai escarpment sandstone maze trail is a moderately difficult self-guided trail with a 13.5 km length and a 400-meter rise to ascend. The trail starts at the Bobbejaans Vervit huts, descends the Bankspruit canyon at the foot of the Brides Leap waterfall (the second-highest in Mpumalanga), and follows the spruit past pools and rapids through the unique sandstone maze that is the Skurwerand.

Day 2 - The Hell's Bell's Trail involves descending from the camp down the magnificent Hell's Kloof, through one of the most pristine sections of yellowwood forest filled with birdlife, past secret and special places. The trail drops 400 meters through a kaleidoscope of terrain down to the Fish Eagle Dam and includes a moderately difficult ascent back to the base.

The Oom Pauls Backpackers Trail is a moderately difficult 2-day backpackers trail that drops from Bermanzi into the Bankspruit, then ascends and crosses the Skurwerand through the sandstone maze to the Bobbejaans Krans camp. On the second day, the trail returns along the rim of the Elands River Gorge, down into the Bankspruit canyon at the foot of the Brides Leap Falls, along the river, and ascends again to the Bermanzi camp.
