Aloe View Rock Lodge is a tranquil establishment situated on a 1,000-hectare game and cattle farm near Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The property is uniquely positioned between two rivers - the Mzinene River to the east and the Mhlosinga River to the north - and forms part of the Lebombo Mountain Range.
The lodge, constructed using local rock, is surrounded by Aloe Marlothii, a distinctive mountain aloe species. The property is known for its dramatic rock cliffs, which are frequently visited by baboons. Wildlife viewing opportunities include nyala, impala, warthog, red and grey duiker, leopard, hyena, crocodile, and hippo.
The main lodge features five tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, accommodating up to ten guests. Four rooms are equipped with twin beds, while one room offers a queen-size bed. All rooms include modern amenities such as air-conditioning, hairdryers, complimentary soaps, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Room 5, designated as the honeymoon suite, features twin beds that can be configured into a king-size bed and includes a spacious shower.
The facility also offers a self-catering cottage that can accommodate two adults and three children, complete with its own boma for family gatherings around the fire. Additional amenities include a swimming pool, a library with a pool table, and a full bar. Meals are served buffet-style, with both breakfast and dinner options available.
