Amohela Ho Spitskop Country Retreat & Conservancy is located in a valley between the small rural farming towns of Ficksburg and Clocolan, offering views of the majestic Maluti Mountains in the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. It offers spacious EarthStone Cottages with double bedrooms, pampering bathrooms, and large open-plan living areas with open fires, family-sized fridges, and comfortable couches. The bedrooms feature king or queen-size beds with cozy duvets and twin beds. The bathrooms have glass-fronted showers and large bathtubs for soaking in hot water, with wall heaters and heated blankets on all beds.

The property also has SkyWind Cottages, where the wind and sky meet across the beautiful Eastern Highlands landscape. The two self-catering cottages, Quail Cottage and Francolin Cottage, are built from sandstone blocks in a barn style with high beamed ceilings, tin roofs, and cement-painted floors. These cottages offer open-plan spaciousness, pampering baths, enclosed sandstone showers and toilets, fully equipped kitchens, Weber braai on patios-with-a-view, combustion wood-burning fires, heated blankets for chilly Highland winters, and king-size beds with cozy duvets.

Amohela Ho Spitskop Country Retreat & Conservancy offers safe parking behind all cottages, daily servicing, and free WiFi at the reception area. Activities and things to do include walking trails on the 420-acre retreat, climbs into the stunning little mountain, birdwatching with a list of around 250 species, spotting small mammals, enjoying amazing starry nights, day drives of beauty, visiting quaint villages, dining at good eateries, golfing at the village golf course where visitors are welcome, exploring San rock art, cycling on the property or locally on safe scenic country roads, and attending annual events like the well-run mountain cycle race combined with a cultural and vintage tractor show in March, and the Cherry Festival in Ficksburg in November. The proximity to the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho also offers opportunities to visit the Afriski Ski Resort and the Sky Restaurant, driving through mountain passes and valleys of exquisite beauty.
