Assendelft Lodge And Bush Camp is an upmarket luxury lodge located in the Great Karoo region, near Beaufort West, Leeu-Gamka, Laingsburg, and Prince Albert (just 45km away). It offers guests an opportunity to experience one of the world's most unique arid zones and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Karoo, providing an ideal setting for rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.

The lodge serves as an ideal overnight stop for long-distance travelers, featuring four elegantly decorated, air-conditioned double bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom and private entrance with an outside patio for enjoying the Karoo surroundings or stargazing at night.

For those seeking a closer connection with nature, the Bush Camp offers tented chalets, each with its own braai area. A communal braai area is available for larger groups to gather around a campfire under the stars. The chalets are equipped with solar-powered lighting and hot water generated by donkeys. Each chalet accommodates one to three guests in single or double beds and includes an en-suite bathroom with a shower, linen, towels, and basic cutlery and crockery. A self-service bar area near the fire pit and deck area is ideal for larger groups to socialize.

Nearby attractions include exploring the farm, visiting the lonely grave of a British soldier, Pte. W Calver of the 16th Lancers, and a fossil trail where therocephalians, diictodons, and Pristerognathu lived 265 million years ago. In Prince Albert, visitors can explore the smallest wine estate in Africa, fig and olive farms, restaurants, and pubs. The Swartberg Mountain Pass, "Die Hel" (Gamkaskloof) wilderness area, Meirings Poort, Cango Caves, and the Karoo National Park are also within driving distance.

The Bush Camp features five tented chalets, each with a natural Karoo stone wall, en-suite facilities, full linen, cutlery, a gas cooker, a private braai area, and an outdoor table and chairs. The central kitchen is fully equipped with a solar-powered fridge, gas stove cooker, and charging points for media devices. The camp also has a communal braai facility, lapa area, and a fully licensed pub. Various wildlife, including gemsbok, zebra, black wildebeest, blesbok, and white, black, and Karoo springbok, surround the camp.

Upon check-in at the Bush Camp, guests receive a complimentary bag of ice and firewood. Additional wood and ice are available for purchase. Karoo lamb, fresh farm eggs, and other items are available for sale to ensure a comfortable stay at the Bush Camp.
