Augusta De Mist Country House is a lifestyle retreat situated on 1.5 hectares of eclectic fynbos, located away from the hustle and bustle of city life, yet conveniently positioned in the historic Drostdy Quarter of Swellendam. The establishment has garnered a solid reputation for its breath-taking gardens, attention to detail, excellent services, and delicious cuisine. The allure of Augusta De Mist is evident in its simple white structures reminiscent of the historic cottages of the region, featuring reed ceilings, contemporary interiors, and art installations.

The accommodation comprises six luxurious suites situated in different locations on the estate, each offering a unique atmosphere. The garden suites are uniquely designed to provide total privacy and intimate settings. The suites are equipped with wood-burning fireplaces, air-conditioning, TVs with DStv access, a small movie library, music stations, and board games. For a unique dining experience, guests can book a table at Augusta's African Kitchen, which focuses on pan-African cuisine, reflecting the variation and depth of the African continent. The property also features a fragrant herb and vegetable garden, fruit trees, and a small olive orchard.

The swimming pool area features a large willow tree with oak rocking chairs, creating an ideal setting for relaxation with a cocktail. At one point, the estate was a rose farm, and evidence of this can be seen in the beautiful heritage roses that grow amidst densely meadow-style plantings, while lavender grows in abundance. Pathways are continuously being added to maximize the garden experience, and seating is constantly being introduced in all areas. Coffee and tea are served on the front patio area, offering beautiful views of the rose bushes, large trees, and a small croquet patch.

One of the suites features bespoke twin beds with a whimsical ambiance. The suite has been renovated and decorated with inspiration from Horizons magazine. It features a large bathroom with an outside shower, offering a garden view, and spans 35 square meters.
