Avolonte Lodge is a place where visitors can enjoy the serenity and tranquility of a natural paradise. The name "Avolonte" means "as much as you like". The lodge is a highly sought-after hideaway for honeymoon couples and travelers en route to the Garden Route, in addition to being an ideal destination for a time of deep-cleansing rest.
The standard features in the cottages at Avolonte Lodge include an extra length king-size bed, leather couches, and a double-sized bath in Squirrels Nest. Squirrels Nest and Gecko Cottage both have indoor fireplaces. Each cottage has its own patio with a braai (BBQ) area.
Avolonte Lodge is located 45 minutes from Cape Town International Airport, Table Mountain, and Robben Island. Its location makes it ideally suited for a quick city breakaway or as a base from which to explore the world-renowned wine routes of Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschoek. Hikers can also choose from an endless number of trails leading to the most amazing mountain pools and waterfalls.
Whether guests are birdwatchers, nature lovers, or simply seeking peace and rest, Avolonte Lodge offers an environment conducive to their needs. Visitors are invited to enjoy an afternoon tea on the verandah in one of the little thatched-roof Cape cottages, surrounded by forests and majestic mountains. However, it is important to note that pets are not allowed at the lodge.
Squirrels Nest is a very romantic cottage with a double-sized bath and a cozy indoor fireplace. The lodge is child-friendly, providing ample space for children to play and run around safely. This thatched brick cottage can comfortably accommodate four people. It is an open-plan cottage consisting of a shower and hand basin, furnished with Old Cape antiques, leather couches, a fridge, stove, microwave, electric frying pan, toaster, kettle, crockery, and cutlery. The sleeping arrangements include a king-size bed or two single beds (upon request), as well as a bunk bed. Room dividers in the cottage offer more privacy. The cottage has an indoor fireplace and its own patio with a braai (BBQ) area. It overlooks the lawn, indigenous flower beds, and provides a view of the surrounding mountains.
