Avondrood Guest House

The Avondrood Guest House is situated amidst the picturesque mountains and vineyards of the Cape Winelands in South Africa. It is conveniently located within walking distance of the village center of Franschhoek, renowned as South Africa's gourmet capital. The guest house occupies a charming Victorian Cape Dutch-style house built in 1870, which has been tastefully renovated to incorporate modern-day comforts while preserving many original features of the building.

The establishment offers eight spacious rooms, one of which is a new two-bedroom family suite. Each room has distinctive decor, creating a unique ambiance. The guest house features a new wine bar service situated in the spacious lounge area. The premises are surrounded by a lush, secluded 2,000 square meter garden with a private swimming pool and Jacuzzi.

Franschhoek, one of South Africa's oldest towns, is rich in history and renowned for its award-winning wines, restaurants, and venues. The town has a friendly small village atmosphere and offers various delightful art and craft shops, as well as the opportunity to visit the Huguenot Museum or the famous Franschhoek Motor Museum. Many of the surrounding vineyards offer wine tasting followed by lunch. Visitors can explore the vineyards and surrounding countryside by car, bicycle, horseback, or using the new wine tram hop-on-hop-off service.
