Avondzon Holiday Farm

Avondzon Holiday Farm is a 266-hectare self-catering holiday estate situated in the eastern Free State of South Africa. It is located halfway between the towns of Bethlehem and Fouriesburg, approximately 6 kilometers from the village of Slabberts, which lies on the R26 road about 300 kilometers south of Johannesburg.

The estate is particularly well-suited for nature enthusiasts who appreciate its tranquility, birdlife, and scenic beauty. The region's altitude of approximately 1800 meters ensures a mild subtropical climate for most of the year. The nearest national park is the Golden Gate Park, situated around 65 kilometers away. Roughly one-third of the farm is occupied by a picturesque mountain range, while the majority of the land is utilized for wheat and corn farming, as well as grazing land for cattle.

The main house features a fireplace, and small electric fan heaters are provided for chilly winter nights. Atop the mountain, there is an antenna for cell phone communications, ensuring excellent reception. Water is supplied from private wells and is of exceptional quality. The chalet is a simple one-room rock house located about one hundred meters from the main house, offering maximum privacy and equipped with its own braai area.
