The Bananien Lodge is a self-catering accommodation located in Sabie, within 40 kilometers from the Kruger National Park. It is owned and operated by Pieter & Maggie, who offer a unique rustic African experience to guests. The lodge features thatched roof log cabins located in scenic indigenous bush and surrounded by waterfalls, providing a tranquil retreat in a malaria-free area.

The self-catering cabins and rondawel accommodate between one and four persons each, with private braai areas. Guests can enjoy the hospitality of the hosts while relaxing and unwinding on the wooden decks of their cabins or by the poolside, which includes a splash pool for toddlers. The peaceful ambiance is enhanced by the soothing sounds of the waterfall and the cacophony of bird-calls.

The Bananien Lodge serves as an ideal base for exploring the major attractions of the Mpumalanga region. Guests are advised to bring their own towels, as the lodge does not provide them, although towels can be requested for guests traveling without them. It is important to note that both levels of the self-catering guest house are open-plan, with no separate rooms. The bottom level features a veranda with a built-in braai, a full kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a double bed, two single beds, and a dining table. The upper level includes a lounge with a TV (SABC1, 2&3, and ETV), a double bed, two 3/4 beds, a bathroom with two showers, and a wooden deck on top. The accommodation can sleep a maximum of eight persons.
