Barberton Mountain Lodge

The Barberton Mountain Lodge offers self-catering accommodation in two units: Die Berghuisie and Die Houthuisie, as well as rooms in Mukwana House. Each of the self-catering units can accommodate up to four people in two separate bedrooms, with a main bedroom featuring a double bed and a second room with two single beds. The units share a bathroom and are equipped with fully-equipped kitchens featuring a stove and refrigerator/freezer, as well as a lounge and dining area. The units have covered stoeps with fantastic mountain views and private rock pools with braai areas.

Mukwana House has two en-suite rooms with private entrances. A gravel mountain pass road winds its way up the Makhonjwa Mountains, surrounded by ancient rocks that tell the epic story of the Barberton rocks, where life is believed to have begun. The Barberton Mountain Lodge offers fairytale-like mountain cottages, catering to a diverse clientele including legends, adventurers, businessmen, travelers, celebrities, geologists, scientists, researchers, nature lovers, honeymoon couples, gypsies, and artists. The cottages are exclusive and private, set in a safe and tranquil environment surrounded by an abundance of nature, natural beauty, bird life, and spectacular views over the Barberton Valley.

The Barberton Mountain Lodge is located 7 km from Barberton, 70 km from the Kruger National Park, and 50 km from Swaziland. Activities available in the area include hiking, mountain biking, paragliding, 4x4-ing, birdwatching, swimming, reading, and relaxing. The lodge offers a private retreat high on the mountain with beautiful views day and night. The fully equipped, two-bedroom, self-catering cottage features one double bed and two single beds, a lounge with a fireplace, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen with a stove and refrigerator/freezer, and a shared bathroom with a bath, basin, and toilet. This unit has its own private rock pool and an outside hot shower, as well as a private braai area and deck with stunning views.
