Beacon Vlei Guest Farm is situated in the heart of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, offering both B&B and self-catering accommodation with historical charm. The farm comprises five distinct self-catering accommodations: The Boat House, Crane Cottage, Otter Cottage, Rose Cottage, and Heron Cottage. Each unit is uniquely designed and well-equipped, featuring modern amenities including DSTV and fireplaces. The Farm House, serving as the flagship unit, can accommodate up to 12 guests and offers spectacular views over the dam.
Located just 1km from Michaelhouse School and centrally positioned on the renowned Midlands Meander, the establishment provides easy access to numerous attractions. Guests can explore local art and craft shops, fine restaurants, delicatessens, and cheese farms within a 3-5km radius in the Balgowan district.
On-site activities include bass fishing (with boats and life jackets provided), birding, boating, and scenic walks. The property is particularly notable for bird watching, hosting species such as the Crowned Crane, Purple Heron, African Fish Eagle, Olive Woodpecker, African Jacana, and Marsh Harrier.
