Bethesda Tower is a unique accommodation establishment located in Nieu-Bethesda, South Africa. The establishment includes several accommodation options: the Tower itself, the Priory (named after an English priory from which its 1820 stained glass windows originated), and the Heritage House. The Priory can accommodate up to six people and features a stone courtyard with braai facilities. For larger groups of up to ten people, various combinations of rooms can be booked together.
The on-site Tower Café is a licensed, intimate establishment open seven days a week, serving breakfast and lunch. The café walls display local artwork available for purchase. The menu includes all-day breakfast, toasted sandwiches, home-grown seasonal salads, and homemade rooster brood served with jam and cheese. Dinner is available exclusively for overnight guests with advance booking.
A significant attraction is the Bushman Heritage Museum, founded in 1999 by Jeni Couzyn. The museum showcases the rich mythology and culture of the |Xam Bushmen through tapestries created by local artists of /Xam descent. The museum offers guided tours, a gallery shop selling original lino prints and textiles, and provides insights into the history of the /Xam people who lived in the Great Karoo for thousands of years.
