Bird Rock Cottage is a small double-storey house situated in a quiet residential area of Vou221au00b4lklip (meaning Bird Rock). It is tucked away from the street. The open-plan living area facilitates a relaxed indoor-outdoor flow, and the sheltered garden provides a lush, tranquil retreat from the brightness of the beach. The unit can accommodate up to three adults and a child: one double bed upstairs, a single bed in a sleeping alcove, and a sleeper couch downstairs in the open-plan living room.

The cottage is within walking distance of the neighbourhood supermarket and close to fine restaurants. It is just up the road from the beach and lagune, which is popular for a variety of water sports including kiteboarding. At sunset, the upstairs work desk transforms into a cocktail bar and view deck as the sun sets over the bay in the distance. The cottage offers a relaxed, easy-going indoor-outdoor flow, with the entire top floor serving as a spacious family room, bedroom, and playroom, and the downstairs area being an open-plan living space. The beach is just 700 metres down the road.

Upstairs, the bedroom spans the entire top floor. The picture windows in two walls offer views of waves breaking at Grotto and Vou221au00b4lklip beaches, as well as the old fishing harbour of Hermanus. The mountain close by can also be seen. This large, airy space is often the preferred living area, perfect for couples or two-child families. The house can accommodate a maximum of four guests - up to three adults and a child. Free wi-fi is available, and a comfortable counter-high desk provides the perfect workstation overlooking the bay.

Downstairs, in the open-plan living area, there is a single bed in a sleeping alcove and a sleeper couch suitable for a smaller person. The kitchen is equipped with a 271-litre fridge, two-zone induction stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, coffee plungers, and ample cutlery, crockery, and glassware. Bath towels and linen are provided, but guests should bring their own beach towels. Firewood for the first braai (on the portable patio braai) will be supplied. The single garage provides direct access to the house.
