Birdsong, Hermanus is a four-bedroom, three-bathroom house located in a grove of Milkwood trees, overlooking the Vermont Saltpan, which is a bird sanctuary. The property features solar panels on the roof, eliminating the issue of loadshedding. It is fully equipped to accommodate six people and is ideal for nature lovers seeking a relaxing retreat away from the city.

The house features a fully-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining and lounge area with TV and DSTV. The living area is equipped with a wood-burning stove, creating a cozy atmosphere. At the front of the house, there is a large verandah with a built-in braai, offering spectacular views of the mountains and across the lake, making it an ideal spot for birdwatching. Toward the back of the property, a grove of Milkwood trees provides a cool shelter from the summer sun.

The Vermont Saltpan is fed by mountain runoff and rainwater, causing the water level to fluctuate from season to season depending on past rainfall. The house is conveniently located a short stroll away from the ocean tidal pool and approximately 10 km from Hermanus, which offers beaches, mountain walks, markets, and numerous fine restaurants. Nearby attractions include vineyards offering wine tasting and two top-rated golf courses.

The area is renowned as one of the best land-based whale watching destinations in the world. The minimum rate per night is for four people, with an additional per person rate charged for bookings exceeding four people. One of the bedrooms, equipped with single beds, is particularly spacious and beloved by children for playing. Additionally, there is a grass lawn area where children can engage in outdoor activities such as playing with balls or roughhousing.
