Blanco Guest Farm & Holiday Resort

Blanco Guest Farm, a registered nature reserve, is situated deep in the heart of the Eastern Cape interior, located at the base of the Winterberg Mountains. It is a family-run holiday farm that offers warm country-style hospitality and a range of outdoor activities. Accommodation is provided in 30 cosy chalets. Great home cooking is offered to satisfy the appetite whetted by the fresh outdoors. A stay at Blanco includes a traditional country-style breakfast, a light lunch, and a four-course dinner served in the comfortable dining room. Homemade bread is part of the Blanco tradition.

The activities available at Blanco include tennis, swimming, golf, bowls, squash, table tennis, horse riding, volleyball, cycling, and birdwatching. Guests can enjoy the wood-fired sauna as well as running and hiking trails on the property. Children can enjoy the trampoline, tractor cart rides, a play lounge, and a playground. For the more adventurous, there are 4x4 trails. A masseuse is available by appointment. Blanco also offers a full conferencing facility and has a private landing strip.

Blanco Guest Farm & Holiday Resort offers a cottage that can be used as a self-catering option or booked out as a house while still utilizing the Blanco dining room facilities. This charming little farmhouse consists of three family units: a loft bedroom with an en-suite bathroom for a family of 4, a unit with 3 bedrooms and an en-suite bathroom for a family of 6, and a three-quarter unit with a queen-size bed and bunk beds for a family of 4 or two adults. The bedrooms surround a central open-plan living area.

Additionally, the house features a centrally placed open-plan kitchen and lounge with an enormous old fireplace for winter days. There is also a beautiful sunny enclosed veranda with a large dining room area, a bar, and an indoor braai facility. As a bonus, there is a lovely lounging loft area where games can be played or midnight feasts can be held.

The country house is located underneath Kranskop mountain, where guests can experience exquisite sunsets, sunrises, and peace. It has its own private lawn overlooking the vegetable gardens and an open veranda at the back to enjoy the view while savoring sundowners.
