Bloemhof Karoo is a historic home that was once owned by Professor Christiaan Barnard. It is a bed and breakfast located on a working farm in the malaria-free Northern Cape, Great Karoo region. The home is situated among kopjes (small hills) and offers three guest rooms and three bathrooms, accommodating up to eight guests.

The Oxwagon Room is a spacious and romantic room suitable for couples, but it can also accommodate two children. There are two dining rooms and a sunroom where guests can enjoy privacy or communal areas. Guests can relax in the lounge, which features a well-stocked bar and opens onto a protected braai (barbecue) area. The farmstead has a wrap-around stoep (veranda), and there are seating areas outside under enormous pepper trees, as well as farm swimming facilities.

The Blue Room is located in a quaint farm outbuilding behind the farmstead and is ideal for families or guests traveling with pets. The bed and breakfast provides a range of activities, including a 40-minute guided Karoo walk, game drives on an adjoining private game reserve, picnics, and sundowners. There are also great hiking and cycling opportunities, fully supported. A beautiful chapel at the lodge can accommodate up to 80 guests.

Bloemhof Karoo and another lodge on the property can accommodate 32 guests. Additional accommodation is available in the nearby town of Richmond, 25km from Bloemhof Karoo. Guests can enjoy hikes or game drives where they can see more than 2,000 antelope roaming, as well as participate in intensive conservation breeding programs for rare antelope species like the Indian black buck and bison. Game viewing on bicycles, candlelit evenings with roaring fires, stargazing, and romantic settings are also available. Private dining facilities are provided for all guests, making it an ideal destination for honeymoon couples. Families can enjoy the farmyard animals, game drives, walking, cycling, and rare antelope breeding programs nearby.

The guest rooms are furnished with twin beds, percale linen, and down duvets, creating a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
