Blommekloof Country Cottages

Blommekloof Country Cottages are five-star, pet-friendly, kid-friendly, and eco-friendly self-catering cottages located on a small farm in the Outeniqua mountains. The cottages are situated close to several nearby destinations, including Mossel Bay, Outshoorn, George, Sedgefield market, and Victoria Bay, all within a 45-minute drive, offering opportunities for various day trips.

The farm operates entirely off the grid, powered by solar and gas, providing a tranquil and rejuvenating environment. The cottages offer minimal cell reception and no television sets, encouraging visitors to disconnect and engage in activities such as reading, playing board games, fishing (three dams for catch-and-release with black bass and carp), birdwatching, hiking, mountain biking, horse riding, enjoying red wine by the fire, and having braais (barbecues).

Both cottages, Sunflower Cottage and Old Cottage, are fully fenced, ensuring the safety of pets. They feature private gardens filled with beautiful plants, trees, herbs, and fruits or vegetables for guests' use. The cottages are well-equipped, particularly in the kitchens, requiring visitors to only bring personal items, food, and drinks. Ample firewood for braais is provided free of charge.

Sunflower Cottage has two bedrooms, one with a beautiful brass double bed and another with two single beds, as well as a sleeper couch in the lounge, accommodating up to six people. The open-plan lounge, dining room, and kitchen boast high ceilings, creating a light and airy atmosphere. A fireplace in the lounge adds warmth during chilly winter evenings.

Old Cottage is a renovated former labourers' cottage with three bedrooms, two with double beds and a large kids' room with four single beds. It also features a comfortable sleeper couch in the lounge, accommodating up to ten people. The cottage has three bathrooms, two en-suite with showers, and a wheelchair-friendly bathroom with both a bath and shower, equipped with a gas geyser to ensure a warm water supply.

The farm is accessible by a short stretch of gravel road, suitable for any vehicle, ensuring easy access. Guests can enjoy the presence of various animals, including sheep, cows, geese, chickens, and guinea fowl, along with the opportunity to observe natural wildlife.

Blommekloof Country Cottages offer a wonderful retreat for anything from a weekend getaway to an extended vacation, providing a tranquil and rejuvenating experience amidst the beautiful Outeniqua mountains. Leeukloof Lapa, a lovely wedding venue, is located less than a kilometer away, allowing the cottages to accommodate up to 16 guests or the wedding party.
