Blyde River Canyon Lodge

Blyde River Canyon Lodge is a prestigious accommodation nestled between the Drakensberg Mountains and the Blyde River in South Africa's Mpumalanga/Limpopo Province. The property is situated within an 85-hectare botanical reserve, offering guests an authentic African bush experience amid abundant fauna and flora.

The lodge, rated 4 Star Superior by the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, serves both leisure travelers and business professionals, providing high-standard furnishings and exceptional service. Its strategic location along the scenic Panorama Route places it within easy reach of attractions such as Bourke's Luck Potholes, Three Rondawels, and God's Window. The main lodge features six double/twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms and a special Honeymoon Suite, all equipped with modern amenities including air-conditioning, satellite TV, and tea/coffee facilities. The rooms open onto tranquil gardens where wildlife, including zebras and wildebeest, can often be observed. Victorian and African décor elements complement the natural surroundings, including 900-year-old Jackelberry trees.

Additional accommodation options include the Blyde Hillside House, located 10km away in Kampersrus village, offering luxury self-catering facilities for up to six guests with three available bedrooms. The Blyde Canyon Sunbird Cottages, situated within a five-minute walk from the main lodge, comprise three air-conditioned self-catering units, each accommodating two adults.

The lodge is owned by Vicky Mittan, who was born in Kenya and brings her deep-rooted African heritage to the establishment.
