Boesmanskloof Accommodation - Die Galg was built 30 years ago and is situated on the McGregor side of the Riviersonderend Mountains, at the start and end of the Boesmanskloof hiking trail. It offers overnight accommodation for hikers on the trail and guests seeking a retreat from the city. Guests have a choice between comfortable Stone Barn Huts or lovely white Thatch Cottages.

All accommodation units are self-catering and equipped with crockery, cutlery, cookware, electricity, a two-plate stove, and a kettle. Each unit features an indoor fireplace and is furnished with single beds. The bathrooms have showers, and bedding is provided. Wood is available at an additional cost and must be ordered before arrival.

Guests can enjoy the swimming pool, a jungle gym for children, and the 11 km Rooikrantzberg Rocky 4x4 Route for adventurous activities. A selection of hiking trails is available in the area, but a permit is required for the well-known Boesmanskloof/Die Galg Trail. Oak Falls, located halfway to Greyton, offers a rest stop and a rock pool.

Plant enthusiasts can identify Cape fynbos and other beautiful flowers, including Compacta, Repens, Speldekussings, Heide, and more. Avid bird watchers may spot a variety of eagles, owls, Malachite sunbirds, and other species, while small, shy antelope are frequently seen browsing near the cottages. Picnicking with coffee or wine while taking in the fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere is a popular activity.

Grocery purchases can be made on behalf of hikers before arrival at a cost of 20% of the total value. Boesmanskloof is situated 16 km from McGregor and can accommodate groups of up to 60, making it ideal for church and school camps.
