Bohemian Garden Cottages

Bohemian Garden Cottages is a tourist accommodation situated in the village of Kaapsehoop, located in the mountainous region of Mpumalanga Escarpment near Nelspruit, Mpumalanga. It is owned and operated by an artist couple, Charl and Andrea Fourie, who opened the establishment in 2011.

The cottages are designed to accommodate families or groups traveling together, with units arranged around a communal braai area and a lounge featuring a fireplace. Firewood is available for purchase at the on-site shop, or guests can bring their own. The property consists of five comfortable garden units located approximately 100 meters from the restaurant.

Miner's Cottage can accommodate two people and includes a queen-sized bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a small kitchenette. The Log Cottage can accommodate a family of six people, with one bathroom featuring a bath and shower, and a fully equipped kitchen. The Trading Cottage can accommodate six people, with three bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen, and a large communal veranda. Digger's Cottage can accommodate two people with twin beds, an en-suite bathroom, and a small kitchenette. The Stable Cottage accommodates two people, with twin beds, an en-suite bathroom, and a small kitchenette.

Activities available in the area include birdwatching, ghost tours, and Adam's Calendar tours, all of which can be booked at the restaurant. Walking trails, horse riding, and rock climbing are popular activities. Scootours, which are non-motorized downhill scooter tours, are also offered. The village has three restaurants, one pub, and one small shop selling essential items like cigarettes, ice, bread, and milk.

The annual Kaapsche Hoop Wild Horse Festival is held throughout the village during the first weekend of September and offers stalls, pony rides, farrier demonstrations, food crawls, wine tasting, games, a Miss Pony Tail competition, live music, art exhibitions, and entertainment for the whole family.

The Bohemian Garden Cottages are suitable for families and groups, as the units are arranged around a communal lounge and fireplace, making them ideal for family gatherings or groups traveling for sports or leisure activities. The establishment can accommodate a total of 18 persons.
