Bontle Rest Camp Marakele National Park Sanparks

The Bontle Rest Camp is located in the Marakele National Park, situated in the Waterberg Mountains of South Africa. The Tswana name "Marakele" means "a place of sanctuary," aptly describing the park's role as a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife due to its location in the transitional zone between the dry western and moister eastern regions of the country. The park is characterized by contrasting landscapes, including majestic mountains, grass-clad hills, and deep valleys.

The word "bontle" in Setswana means "beautiful," and the Bontle Rest Camp lives up to its name, offering pleasant accommodations with 36 campsites equipped with power points. The campsites are arranged into three clusters, each with a communal ablution block. The rest camp features unobstructed views of the unspoiled bush and mountain scenery and is situated in close proximity to the park's main entrance gate.

It is important to note that the rates for staying at the Bontle Rest Camp are subject to the number of adults and children. Quotes will include the 1% Community Levy but exclude daily conservation fees, which must be paid directly to the camp upon arrival. Guests are required to supply their own camping equipment and tents, as only power points are provided. Additional vehicles will be charged a fee per night, and the compulsory SANParks community levy will be included in the quoted rates. However, the SANParks daily conservation fees are not included in the rates and must be paid upon arrival at the camp.
