Boorgat is a charming accommodation establishment located in Sutherland, Northern Cape, South Africa, known as one of the country's coldest towns. The property features two main accommodation options: The Velvet Olive and De Oude Waenhuys, which together can accommodate up to 10 guests.

The Velvet Olive, dating back to 1860, stands as one of the town's oldest residences. This Manor House features three bedrooms (two with double beds and one with a queen-size bed and bunk bed), two bathrooms (one en-suite with bath and one shared shower-only), a lounge with a fireplace, and an open-plan kitchen equipped with modern amenities. The dining room includes a rustic wood stove, and the kitchen features a two-plate stove, oven, fridge, and indoor braai area.

De Oude Waenhuys is a fully restored cottage on the same property, featuring an open-plan design with a bedroom and lounge area, fireplace, well-equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with a luxurious bath and separate enclosed toilet with handheld shower. Both accommodations are equipped with cozy blankets, fireplaces, and heaters for the cold winter nights, as well as outdoor braai areas perfect for stargazing and socializing.

The property also includes additional rooms adjacent to the restaurant, each furnished with either double or twin beds and private bathrooms with showers. These rooms come equipped with tea and coffee facilities, microwaves, and Wi-Fi access.

The Boorgat Restaurant offers farm-style cuisine with a modern twist and includes a bar. The venue can host various events including birthday parties, corporate functions, and team-building activities for 60 to 80 people.

Sutherland offers numerous attractions, including local restaurants serving Karoo cuisine, Sterland Stargazing, the Sutherland Planetarium, the Southern African Large Telescope (SALT), and the Sutherland Museum which showcases the region's history.
