Braai Safaris Lodge

Braai Safaris is an intimate private safari company owned and operated by Marta and Wiann De Lange, located in the secure Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate in Limpopo Province, South Africa. The lodge enjoys a strategic position between the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon, situated in a conserved area of Lowveld bush that hosts abundant wildlife including zebras, giraffes, kudus, warthogs, and impalas, with occasional visits from leopards, hyenas, and other nocturnal animals from the Greater Kruger National Park.

The company combines traditional South African braai (barbecue) culture with safari experiences, reflecting an important aspect of South African heritage. Services include Big 5 safaris in Kruger National Park, comfortable accommodation options, and various activities led by highly qualified FGASA field guides. The operation offers services in English, Afrikaans, and Italian.

The owners bring extensive experience to their operation. Wiann, a FGASA nature guide level 2 with class of 1991 certification and level 3 Tracker qualification, has over 13 years of experience in Big 5 reserves. Marta, of Italian origin, contributes significant front-of-house expertise gained from working in prestigious Greater Kruger area lodges.

The accommodation consists of three distinct units: The Marula Villa, a two-bedroom facility that can accommodate five people, and the Gardenia and Acacia king rooms. The Marula Villa features a garden, braai boma, and splash pool, while both king rooms offer en-suite bathrooms with baths and outdoor showers. The Gardenia Chalet includes a private splash pool, and all units provide views of the surrounding bushveld and its wildlife.
