Braeside Country Cottage is a farmhouse situated on the edge of the Tarkastad River, surrounded by lucerne lands. It is situated at the foot of the Winterberg mountain range and is a sheep and cattle farm. The farm also has various buck species in the scenic Winterberg Nature Conservancy. The location is ideal for hikers, walkers, cyclists, and fishermen, and it is a three-hour drive from Port Elizabeth and East London.

The cottage offers an unforgettable experience for hiking, cycling, fishing, or relaxing in the pristine beauty of the rugged mountains or rolling plains of the Winterberg. It provides peace, tranquility, and a sense of oneness with nature.

Braeside Country Cottage has five bedrooms and can accommodate up to ten guests. The main bedroom has a private entrance and contains a King-size bed, a full en-suite bathroom, and a private lounge. The second bedroom also has a private entrance and contains a Queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom has a Queen bed with an en-suite. Rooms four and five share a full bathroom. Rates displayed are for up to three guests occupying the cottage; it is then an additional R3500.00 per additional adult per night up to a maximum of ten guests.

The cottage features a fully equipped open-plan kitchen, dining room, and lounge with DStv. Guests can relax around a cozy log fire or enjoy a braai in the large braai area under the amazingly clear, starry skies of the majestic Winterberg. The cottage is also fully serviced daily to enable guests to take a complete break.

Braeside farm has numerous farm tracks that are ideally suited for both serious and leisure cycling, while trophy fishing is enjoyed on the Fairfield dam at the foot of the Winterberg Mountains. There is also access to three other dams for rainbow trout: Delton, Theadan, and Thrift dams. Alternatively, there are various mountainous hiking trails for varying levels of fitness, as well as safe walking trails. Guests can enjoy the magnificent mountainous countryside while walking through the indigenous vegetation.
