Braeside

The guesthouse 'Braeside' has been rated "Superior" by the AA and has received a 4-Star rating from the TGSA. Under new ownership since April 1st, 2017, the guesthouse has been completely refurbished in a traditional antique style to complement the Edwardian heritage of the house. The house, built in 1901, has been restored to its original splendor and exudes charm and character.

The guesthouse also features genuine South African character, including paintings by local artists depicting the beautiful South African landscapes. It is situated in a peaceful and safe area of the picturesque town of Swellendam, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The majestic house with its large wrap-around stoop is an ideal place to relax after a busy day exploring the wonderful Overberg region. Guests can relax on the stoop's comfortable sofas or sit under one of the large trees in the beautiful garden, experiencing peace and tranquility.

Swellendam is an ideal venue to explore the entire region, whether it's trips to the coast or the wine lands, as everything is nearby. The Classic Elizabeth room features original wooden flooring and is furnished with original era antiques. It comes with two three-quarter beds, cooling and heating air-conditioning, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower.
