Bretton Beach Crest Holiday Cottages is a family-run holiday resort located in the seaside town of Port Alfred, 3 km from the Kowie River Mouth. The resort offers nine self-catering cottages set on the beachfront in a natural dune-forest setting. Each cottage accommodates a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children, with the main bedroom sleeping 2 adults, the lounge area having 2 single beds for 2 adults, and the second bedroom featuring a double bunk for 2 children.

The cottages are simply furnished and privately positioned, each with its own braai area just off the veranda. Most cottages have sea views, while the closest two to the beach do not offer views but provide easy access for families with young children. Guests are required to bring their own toiletries and towels. The cottages are equipped with TVs with basic channels, and guests can bring their own decoder and smart card for full DStv access.

The resort offers opportunities for fishing, shell collecting, and birding, with over 100 species recorded in the area. A tidal pool in front of the cottages is available for toddlers and young children. The resort is situated 4 km from the town center, which offers general shopping facilities, restaurants, and various sport and leisure activities. The resident owners, Colin and Lee Howard, are available to advise and organize day trips in the area.

Bretton Beach Crest Holiday Cottages encourages families with young children due to its proximity to the beach and the presence of a tidal pool in the rocks in front of the cottages. There are no busy roads to cross, making it a safe environment for children. The cottages consist of two bedrooms, with the main bedroom featuring either a double bed or two single beds, and the second bedroom having a double bunk bed for children. The lounge area has two single beds. The cottages have one bathroom with a shower over the bath and a separate toilet, a well-equipped kitchen, and an open-plan living area with two occasional chairs and a six-seater dining room table.
