Buffalo Hills Private Game Reserve is a secluded retreat located in the Drakensberg highlands near Sterkfontein Dam in the Eastern Free State, South Africa. The reserve features three distinct self-catering accommodation options. The Mountain Lodge comprises five chalets with en-suite bathrooms, connected to a central kitchen and lounge area with a fireplace, accommodating up to 15 guests. The Beauchef Farm House offers five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, TV lounge with fireplace, and an outdoor braai area, hosting up to 13 guests. The Fishing Cottage, overlooking a 35-hectare dam, includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with kitchen, dining room, and braai facilities, accommodating up to 8 guests.

Visitors can enjoy various activities including game viewing, bird watching, wildlife photography, fishing, mountain hiking, rock art viewing, mountain biking, and scenic self-drives. The reserve is home to diverse wildlife, including African Buffalo, Sable, Roan, Eland, Reedbuck, Zebra, Lechwe, Waterbuck, and the Secret Six. Located approximately 20km from Harrismith town, the reserve offers a perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility, with essential amenities available in the nearby town.
