Camelroc Guest Farm

Camelroc Guest Farm is a tranquil establishment situated between the two Caledon rivers near the Caledonspoort border post, on the border of Lesotho and South Africa. The property derives its name from a distinctive sandstone hill featuring an outcrop shaped like a camel's head. The farm offers spectacular views of the Maluti Mountains and serves as an ideal base for exploring both the Eastern Free State and Lesotho.

The accommodation consists of seven fully equipped self-catering chalets and a main homestead with three en-suite rooms. The chalets vary in size, ranging from cozy open-plan units sleeping 2-3 guests to larger units accommodating up to 8 people. The main homestead's rooms are tastefully furnished with Oregon pine and, while not self-catering, offer comfortable accommodation with modern amenities including heaters and electric blankets.

Recreational facilities include a swimming pool with a thatched entertainment area, table tennis facilities, and a garden equipped with a netball ring and space for ball games and volleyball. The main guest house, constructed from traditional sandstone, features a welcoming fireplace in the lounge.

The farm offers various outdoor activities including hiking and mountain biking trails. Visitors can enjoy the region's natural attractions, including bird watching, small game viewing, and rock art sites. The property is particularly scenic during autumn when the Poplar trees change color. As a halfway point between the Cape and KwaZulu-Natal, Camelroc Guest Farm provides an ideal stopover for travelers, combining countryside tranquility with adventure opportunities.
