Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge

Camelthorn Kalahari Lodge is situated in the Hardap region of Namibia, nestled between two sand dunes in an area characterized by endemic Camelthorn trees. The lodge features 12 rondavel-style thatched huts, thoughtfully positioned against a striking landscape of red dune sands, yellow grasses, and vivid blue skies, complemented by the indigenous Camelthorn and Acacia trees.

The accommodation comprises intimate rooms styled with crisp white linen and San-inspired décor, creating a perfect balance between style and rustic charm. Each unit features an en-suite bathroom with a large shower, air conditioning, and tea and coffee-making facilities. The rondavels, designed with young-at-heart travelers in mind, are well-spaced for privacy and include individual stone patios offering panoramic views of the Kalahari Desert.

The main lodge area showcases a refreshing swimming pool, which occasionally attracts local wildlife despite a nearby waterhole. The facility includes a comfortable leather-furnished lounge, a bar, and a boma area for evening fires and barbecues. An elevated restaurant provides an alternative dining space with magnificent views, serving fresh cuisine incorporating organic vegetables from the neighboring Twilight farm.

Guests are encouraged to extend their stay to fully experience the variety of activities available throughout the Intu Afrika Game Reserve. These include sunset game drives in open-air 4x4 vehicles, quad biking adventures, guided Bushman walks, and massage services. The lodge offers flexibility for guests to dine at neighboring establishments or enjoy special dune dinners, with attentive staff ready to accommodate various requests.
