Caslis Cottage

Caslis Cottage is a uniquely designed family home situated approximately 70 meters from the water's edge and sheltered from the East wind. It provides guests with comfortable accommodation and magnificent views. The house is divided into three units, making it ideal for couples and families. Off-street parking within a holiday resort is provided, with one vehicle per unit. Guests with trailers must make prior arrangements for parking.

Caslis Cottage is located 25 km from East London on a tar road. It is situated on the Wild Coast Jikeleza route and the popular Strandlopers trail. Areena Resort is 3 km away and offers many outdoor activities, while Inkwenkwezi Game Reserve and Buccaneers Back packers are approximately 8 km away. The area offers various restaurants, shops, and craft markets, mostly in season.

The surrounding area provides numerous activities such as beach walks, bird watching, fishing, surfing, canoeing/kayaking, deep sea fishing, horse riding, kite surfing, paddling, scuba diving, snorkelling, whale watching, game drives, quad biking, abseiling, and paintball. Glengariff and its surroundings are malaria-free. There are several resorts nearby for day trips, including Haga Haga, Morgan bay, Kei Mouth, and the Hogsback in the Amatola Mountains.

Caslis Cottage is not a party venue and caters to families and couples seeking quiet beach holidays. While it is not a wedding venue, the Lux unit offers fabulous accommodation for honeymooners. The three units can accommodate up to 11 guests, making it a popular choice for wedding groups. The property is conveniently situated near most wedding venues in the area.

There is no game viewing on-site, but game reserves are located 3 to 8 km away, and wild animals can be seen while driving to and from off-site activities. The Lux unit is set among the milkwood trees, offering a fabulous view of the rocks and breakers. The full moon rising over the sea can create a romantic atmosphere.

The family unit has a large lawn for children to play on, and parents can braai while watching their children. The beach is an easy walk of approximately 70 to 100 meters away, and there is also a lagoon for children to play in. All units are sea-facing, front row, with an uninterrupted view. The swimming beach is an easy walk of approximately 100 meters, and there is a lovely lagoon for children to play in.

Additionally, there is a cozy, open-plan upstairs apartment ideal for couples or the young at heart. It features its own balcony, sea view, and braai area. However, it may not be the best unit for young children due to the presence of steps, requiring parental vigilance. Older guests may also find the steps challenging.
