Cedarberg Guest Farm

Cedarberg Guest Farm is a lodging establishment located between the towns of Kokstad and Matatiele, situated at the base of the southernmost Drakensberg-Maluti mountain range. The accommodation is well-suited for those seeking a break from urban life, as well as for families or groups planning reunions or gatherings. The region experiences mild summers and relatively cold winters, with occasional snowfall on the mountains and sometimes even on the farm.

Cedarberg Guest Farm offers a variety of accommodation options, including a fully equipped, self-catering farmhouse with a fireplace, three self-catering cottages, two semi-luxurious rooms, and caravan and camping sites with power points. The farm provides breakfast and dinner upon request, which must be booked 24 hours in advance. It also features conference facilities and an old barn that can accommodate up to 200 guests for weddings.

The farm's proximity to three mountain passes with border posts in Lesotho makes it an ideal base for exploring the lesser-known areas of the Drakensberg and southern Lesotho. It caters to 4x4 enthusiasts and adventure motorcycle riders who can discover the area while enjoying the wild game on the farm. The region is also known for its abundant birdlife, attracting bird watchers. The old barn can accommodate up to 200 guests, and there is a large lawn that can accommodate even more guests if a marquee tent is used. An island in a small dam on the property can serve as a chapel.

Well-socialized pets are welcome at Cedarberg Guest Farm, subject to an additional charge. Cottage 1 is ideally suited for a family and shares a bathroom. It offers accommodation for up to five people and comprises two bedrooms. The bathroom, located in the main bedroom, is equipped with a shower, basin, and toilet. The open-plan kitchen with a living area has a fireplace. The main bedroom has one double bed, while the second bedroom has two single bunk beds and a single bed.
