Chapter House Boutique Hotel

The Chapter House Boutique Hotel is a historic property that has recently been renovated and added to The Living Journey Collection. It is located in the center of Franschhoek, just a few minutes' walk from the town's many award-winning restaurants. The building was originally constructed in 1888 as a Mission House and later served as the village school until 1974.

The renovations have preserved many of the original features and restored them to their former glory. The decor combines heritage design with local creativity, charm, and color. The hotel's public areas feature bespoke art pieces from local artists, handpicked furniture, and fabrics. The lounge features exceptionally high ceilings and an impressive original fireplace. The reception area leads to a bar and terrace overlooking the pool on one side, and a beautifully paneled breakfast room on the other. The breakfast room opens onto the original veranda and a garden with roses, lavender, and indigenous trees, creating an oasis of calm against the backdrop of the Franschhoek mountains.

The hotel offers nine guest units: Classic Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, and Superior Suites. Seven of the rooms have private outside spaces, and three have private plunge pools. All rooms feature a king-size bed, en-suite bathroom, in-room safe, LED TV, free Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. The hotel provides a 24-hour concierge, in-room spa service, day room, breakfast until 11 am, an all-day dining menu, and a full-service bar.

Chapter House Boutique Hotel is the third hotel managed by the Schaefer Partnership under The Living Journey Collection, complementing the Tree House Boutique Hotel and Villa Zest Boutique Hotel in Green Point. The hotel is located near golf courses such as Bochenmeer and Pearl Valley. The rooms offer breathtaking views of the mountains and vineyards across the Franschhoek valley.
