Chobe River Camp, Gondwana Collection Namibia

Chobe River Camp, part of the Gondwana Collection Namibia, is strategically located on the banks of the Chobe River, offering spectacular views of the flood plains. The lodge features 20 environmentally conscious tented chalets constructed using indigenous Mopane timber and canvas, creating a harmonious blend with the natural landscape.

The accommodation consists of various configurations including twin, double, and triple rooms, all elevated on stilts to maximize views. Each solar-powered chalet features an en-suite bathroom, private deck, mosquito nets, and water coolers. While there are no electrical outlets in the rooms due to the solar power system, the main lodge offers Wi-Fi connectivity with a daily allowance per guest.

The property boasts impressive facilities including a restaurant, bar, curio shop, and cold-water swimming pool. The location provides an ideal base for exploring the region's abundant wildlife, particularly during the wet season when large herds of elephants, buffalo, and antelope can be observed. The camp's proximity to both the Chobe Nature Reserve and Victoria Falls (150km away) makes it an excellent choice for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

Activities available include morning, afternoon, and full-day boat cruises, Canadian canoe trips, birding drives, guided walking trails, and cultural visits to the traditional Mali Village. However, water-based activities are seasonal and dependent on river levels, particularly during the dry season between September and December.

The camp welcomes families, with special accommodation arrangements and rates for children. The location is accessible via Mpacha Airport in Katima Mulilo, with transfer services available.
